Overview

Cognira Labs ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Cognira Labs Translator Shopify app ("the App"). This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

• Shop information: Your Shopify store domain and access token, used solely to authenticate API calls and write translations back to your store.
• Product data: Product titles, descriptions, and SEO meta fields that you choose to translate. This data is processed in real time and cached temporarily to avoid redundant API calls.
• Glossary terms: Custom terminology you add via the Brand Glossary feature, stored to apply consistent translations across your store.
• Subscription information: Your current plan (Free, Basic, or Pro) and billing status, synced from Shopify's billing system.

We do not collect personal data about your customers. No order data, customer names, emails, addresses, or payment information are accessed or stored.

How We Use Your Data

• To authenticate your store and make Shopify API calls on your behalf.
• To translate your product content and write it back to your Shopify store.
• To cache translation results so repeated requests are faster and more cost-efficient.
• To apply your glossary terms during translation.
• To manage your subscription and enforce plan limits.

We do not sell your data, share it with third parties for advertising, or use it for any purpose beyond operating the App.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

• Anthropic (Claude AI): Product content is sent to Anthropic's API for translation. Anthropic's privacy policy applies: anthropic.com/privacy
• Supabase: Store credentials, translation cache, and glossary terms are stored in a Supabase-hosted database. Data is stored in the US. Supabase's privacy policy applies: supabase.com/privacy

Data Retention

Your store data (access token, cached translations, glossary terms) is retained for as long as the App is installed on your store.

When you uninstall the App, Shopify sends us a deletion request. All your store data — including the access token, translation cache, and glossary — is permanently deleted within 48 hours of uninstallation.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at the email below. Uninstalling the App will automatically trigger full data deletion.

GDPR & CCPA

We comply with Shopify's mandatory GDPR webhooks. We do not store personal data about your end customers. If you are subject to GDPR or CCPA requirements and have questions about compliance, contact us.
